Description

Weighted Trade Good / Commodity Token – Twilight Imperium 4th Edition

This is a double-sided, weighted Trade Good / Commodity token designed specifically for Twilight Imperium 4th Edition. The intent is to improve table presence and handling by giving each token a satisfying, coin-like weight while remaining fully compatible with the game components.

The following model from Thingiverse was used as a foundation for the design of this token: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7088896

The weight effect is achieved by inserting a coin during the print process. The model is designed with an internal cavity for the appropriate coin. A manual pause is added to the print profile, allowing for the coin to be placed mid-print before the printer resumes and permanently seals it inside the token.

For the Triple Trade Good / Commodity token one 5-cent euro coin should be added.
For the Single Trade Good / Commodity token one 1-cent euro coin should be added.

Printing notes:

  • No supports required.
  • 0.2mm Nozzle is highly recommended.
  • AMS is required for the printing of the model.
  • Use smooth build plates for the best effect.
  • A manual pause is inserted at layer 27 in order to add the coins.
  • During printing I did not use any glue when adding the coins and there was no rattle after the print was completed. However, just to be on the safe side, you may add a drop of superglue when adding the coins.

For the print I have used the following filaments:
Bambulab PLA Silk+ Gold

Bambulab PLA Silk+ Titan Grey

Bambulab PLA Basic Black
