Snapmaker U1 Top Hat By. Srin - Thick walls remix
Print Profile(1)

Description
I remixed the excellent top cover model by Srin with a few improvements (for my use case at least). I will be placing my printer in a cabinet, so the plexiglass panels won’t be of much use other than the front one. Srin has made some versions like this already but the panels are fairly thin to save on material. I brought them up to a full 8mm thickness to improve rigidity, increase the ease of assembly and improve the insulation (both acoustic and thermal qualities of the top cover.
I also sliced the model up differently and did a mediocre job of it. Some dowel pins are in locations that don’t really make sense or go all the way though the part. But it printed and went together really cleanly. I have also provided the full one piece model should anyone want to slice it up differently.
This used just under 2kg of PETG with 3 walls, about 500g more than Srins original version. Please refer to Srins excelent model for print and assembly instructions. The plexiglass front panel dimensions are 363 mm × 336 mm.
