🎯 Sealed Maze Box Generator — Blind Ball Challenge
This generator creates a fully sealed maze box that prints as one complete, enclosed object.
Even though the design is built internally from a base and lid during modeling, the final output is a single sealed print — no glue, no assembly, no hardware.
Drop a ball in through the entrance hole, then blindly tilt the box in your hands to guide the ball through the internal maze and out the exit.
You never see the maze while playing.
Only while designing it.
🧠 HOW THIS WORKS (IMPORTANT)
- The box’s interior walls ARE the maze boundary
- The maze generates internal walls only
- There is no separate perimeter maze wall
- This guarantees:
- No dead space around the edges
- No floating geometry
- No double walls
- No way to break the maze with bad settings
The maze always fills the box edge-to-edge and scales correctly with all parameters.
🧩 HOW TO USE IT
- Choose your maze size and difficulty
- Preview the maze (optionally hide the lid to see inside)
- Export the model
- Print once
- Drop the ball in
- Tilt, rotate, suffer
- Ball exits the other hole (eventually)
No glue.
No assembly.
No excuses.
⚙️ CONTROL GUIDE (READ THIS IF YOU DON’T WANT PROBLEMS)
🔍 OUTPUT / PREVIEW
- Output Mode
- Assembly → Preview the sealed box
- Base / Lid → Internal modeling components (advanced use only)
- Preview Lid Mode (Dropdown)
- Show → Normal sealed preview
- Hide → Temporarily removes the lid so you can see the maze layout
(Preview-only. The exported model is still sealed.)
- Panel Gap
- Visual spacing for preview clarity only
🧩 MAZE SETTINGS
- Cols / Rows
- Controls maze complexity
- Higher values = longer solve times and worse mood
- Cell
- Size of each maze cell
- Wall
- Thickness of maze walls
- Internally locked to prevent floating or print failures
- Seed
- Randomizes the maze layout
- Same seed = same maze
- Start X / Start Y
- Entry location (clamped safely to the grid)
- End X / End Y
- Exit location
⚪ BALL & CLEARANCE
- Ball D
- Diameter of the ball used inside the maze
- Z Clearance
- Vertical clearance above the maze floor
- Ceiling Clear
- Space between maze walls and the inside of the lid
- Hole Clear
- Clearance for entrance and exit holes to prevent jams
All clearance values are hard-limited to safe ranges.
You cannot accidentally create floating walls or impossible geometry.
🕳️ FUNNEL OPTIONS
- Use Funnel
- Adds a tapered guide at the entrance and exit holes
- Funnel D1 Add
- Additional funnel flare
- Funnel H
- Funnel height
🧱 BOX SETTINGS
- Base Wall
- Thickness of the outer box walls
- Also defines the maze boundary (by design — don’t fight it)
🖨️ PRINTING NOTES
- Prints as one sealed object
- No supports required
- Internal maze walls are fused to the floor
- No floating features
- Works with standard filaments (PLA, PETG, ABS, etc.)
