Christmas candy cane maze puzzle cash gift
Print Profile(1)

Description
Are you out of ideas last minute for christmas gift ideas? Are you about ready to just get a crappy card and put some cash in it? At least make them work for it, print this out. This candy cane maze was intended to be modelled and uploaded at the start of December, but here it is a few days before christmas and I'm only writing this now, so I feel ya.
The cane is printed at a 45deg angle as the candy stripe colours are just layer changes, everyone I have showed it to have not noticed till it was pointed out to them. It means this can be printed with just 8 colour changes. I have gone a little overboard with supports as my print room has been 45C for the last few days and i was having failures without it. If you live somewhere the temp is a bit more sensible you may be able to decrease them a bit, but I was unable to conclusively confirm what was good. There are also 2 plates as the colour changes don't quite work with the bottom bit, as much as I tried to make it so. The bottom also has supports as the join looked a bit rough without them. Its not perfect with them anyway so do what ya gotta do I guess. Photos show the seam position printed in random, this was another ambient heat related decision for me but the slice profile it set to back, FYI.
As an Australian I only had a $1USD note but there is so much room above and below it there shouldn't be an issue with anyones note sizes. Aus $5 almost fits sideways. Perfect for lotto tickets, receipt style gift cards, or whatever other thing is a small cylinder.
I printed in PLA Matte Bone White (11103) and PLA Matte Scarlet Red (11200). It looks fancy, but I suspect anything slightly christmasy would work. I would love to see what you come up with colour combo wise, please post a pic.
