This 3-blade boomerang is an easy-to-print, robust outdoor toy that reliably and cleanly returns to you thanks to its aerodynamic shape. The model is designed for single-part printing and requires no supports

The boomerang was designed to fly stably, rotate smoothly, and show very predictable flight behavior even in moderate wind. Perfect for quick prints, tests in the park, or as a durable outdoor toy

Printing Recommendations

For optimal stability and flight performance, I recommend:

• Material: PETG (for toughness and impact resistance)
• Layer height: at least 0.2 mm
• Wall thickness: at least 3 walls
• Infill: 15% is completely sufficient
• Do not use "Additive" or "Smooth" settings – this can round the edges and worsen aerodynamics
• No support needed

PETG ensures that the boomerang easily withstands hard landings and does not deform

Throwing Instructions

For the boomerang to return reliably, the correct technique is crucial:

• The boomerang is thrown vertically, not horizontally like a frisbee
• If the wind comes from the left, you should stand about 90° offset from the wind.
  This means: You don't throw directly against the wind, but slightly to the side
• A strong, clean throw with plenty of rotation is sufficient — the boomerang will then describe a stable curve and return cleanly

With the right technique, it will land almost precisely back with you
