Description
This filament rack is an original design, completely designed in Onshape, tested in assembly, then physically printed and used daily
The goal was not the lightest or "fancy" rack possible, but an honestly stable, quiet, and high-quality system that feels as if it were always meant to be exactly this way
🔧 Design & Construction
- Solid side panels with octagonal receptacles for maximum twist resistance
- Octagonal, printed rods (no round material needed)
- Generous wall thicknesses for high rigidity
- Hole structure for weight and material savings, without sacrificing stability
- All edges rounded or chamfered – nothing sharp, nothing cheap
- Fits and dimensions fully checked in assembly
🧱 Stability
- Approx 4–5 kg load capacity easily possible per rod
- Very rigid construction, even when fully loaded
- No bending, no play – simply sits firmly
🖨️ Print Recommendation
- Material: PLA / PLA+ (PETG also possible)
- Layer height: 0.2 mm
- Infill: 20–25 % (Gyroid or Cubic recommended)
- No support needed
- Printed and tested on Bambu Lab H2D
🔩 Mounting
- Wall mounting via the integrated countersunk holes on the back
- Screw heads sit neatly flush
- Suitable for wood or anchor mounting (wall dependent)
📐 Notes
- The design is intentionally massive
- The hole structure is not a decorative gimmick, but functionally intended
- The model makes good use of the maximum print area

This rack originated from a real need and was adapted for so long until dimensions, feel, and stability simply fit
