If you have a vacuum cleaner in your garage and a long vacuum hose, you already know the problem.

The hose is always in the way.
On the floor.
Twisted.
Never where you want it.

That’s exactly why I designed this.

I use a vacuum cleaner in my garage almost daily, and managing the hose was always more annoying than the work itself. I wanted something simple, sturdy, and always ready to use – without rolling the hose up every time.

So I made this hose holder.

What is it?

A vacuum hose holder designed to mount directly onto the garage door rail / frame.

  • Snaps onto the rail – no tools required
  • Can slide back and forth along the rail
  • Rotates freely using a ball bearing
  • Keeps the hose out of the way, but always accessible

Designed to fit Hörmann garage doors, and most likely other garage doors with similar rail dimensions.

Smooth rotation – no twisting

The clamp rotates using a ball bearing, allowing the hose to follow your movement naturally.

No twisting.
No resistance.
Clean and smooth operation.

You will need either:

  • A 608 bearing (608 / 608ZZ)
    or
  • A 3D printed bearing

I have tested a printed bearing myself, and it works perfectly.

Installation

Simple and straightforward.

  1. Print both parts
  2. Press in the bearing (608 or printed)
  3. Screw the holder together
  4. Push in the clamp and enjoy

⚠️ The hose is intentionally a tight fit.
This ensures that it will not slip out while hanging down during use.

For heavier hoses or permanent mounting, a small drop of super glue can be used to lock the holder in place – completely optional.

Why it works in real life

  • The hose follows you as you move in the garage
  • It rotates instead of twisting
  • It stays where it should – not on the floor

A simple solution to a very common garage problem.

Print Settings (tested)

  • Filament: PLA
  • Infill: 20%
  • Supports: Minimal, only needed for the rounded details
  • Prints easily as-is

Good to know

  • Not designed for extreme loads without extra fixation
  • Super glue is recommended but not required
  • Future versions may include more sizes or variations

If you have a vacuum cleaner in your garage and are tired of dealing with messy hoses, this is for you.
