Improved odor-proof siphon for shower tray
⚠️ WARNING:
This project is not universal.
It is designed only for those who have the same type of original drain I have (orange parts) and encounter the problem of bad odors coming from the drain
❌ The problem
Whoever designed the old siphoned drain (I don't know the brand) made several mistakes:
- sealing edge too thin → the cup often slides to the bottom of the drain
- total absence of O-ring -
➡️ result: continuous passage of bad odors
In the images, you can clearly see the difference between the old drain (orange) and my project (blue)
✅ The solution
This project has been developed specifically to replace the original drain, maintaining the same shower tray hole but completely correcting the design flaw
The system consists of:
- siphon
- collection cup
both custom-designed for the original hole
💡 Why it works better
- Integrated sealing O-ring
Ensures an airtight seal between the siphon and the shower tray, eliminating air passage and thus the smell - Much higher water column
Compared to the original drain, the water column between the cup and the siphon is significantly greater, and the inlet pressure to the siphon is higher than the outlet pressure from the cup

⚠️ Important note
For the system to function correctly, it is necessary to add a 70 × 3 mm O-ring to the 3D printed parts. The O-ring is not included in the file but can be easily found in any hardware or plumbing store
