Ikea Billy knob drilling template
Print Profile(1)
Description
This drilling jig was designed to help relocate factory cabinet door handles to the upper or lower edge of the door in a clean and precise way.
The new handle position aligns perfectly with the door frame, creating a seamless look that feels as if the handles were installed this way from the factory.
For 97 cm tall doors mounted from the very bottom of an IKEA BILLY cabinet, this solution makes opening the doors much more comfortable, eliminating the need to bend down.
When used on upper cabinets, it improves ergonomics and allows for easier, more natural door opening.
The print includes a complete set of jigs for both left and right doors.
A separate drill insert is included and must be glued into the jig before use to ensure accurate drilling.
The default print profile contains an insert for a 3 mm drill bit.
An alternative insert for a 5 mm drill bit is also available and can be found among the additional files.
Assembly:
Place the jig on the edge of a table or workbench and press the insert into the jig as shown in the reference image.
Apply glue along the edge marked with an arrow, then fully seat the insert to secure it in place.
