✍🏻️Updates:

2026.1.10 Added Cai Duo Wu filament storage spool, R3D filament storage spool.
2026.1.13 Added new filament spool center column connecting parts, added custom labels.
2026.1.17 Added rotating base, added parametric editing for storage boxes, added parametric editing for labels.

2026.1.19 Added PINRUI filament storage box, Tinmorry filament storage box.

🥚Design Concept:

Because detachable filament spools are not usually sufficient, and it would be a waste to discard various commonly used and suitable third-party filament spools, I modeled a related rotating storage tower using filament spools as the basic framework. As the dimensions of filament spools from different manufacturers vary, I created a parametric editable filament spool storage box with replaceable label grooves. Filament spools from different brands can be stacked together, forming a storage tower that can rotate as a whole or in sections.

Note: The filament spools must have symmetrically centered holes.

🐣Model Features:

①Storage for large and small items: The storage box comes in single and double compartment versions.
②Stacking different filament spools + overall rotation + partial rotation: The filament spool center column connecting part combined with the rotating base allows for stacking different types of filament spools, while also enabling overall rotation. This makes finding items faster and does not affect the individual rotation of each layer.

③Customizable dimensions and content: Both the filament spools and labels can be parametrically edited, allowing users to customize them.
④Anti-slip treatment: TPU can be embedded in the bottom groove to provide anti-slip function.

🐤Model Instructions:

  • Before printing, please measure and compare the important dimensions of the filament spool in the print profile (a certain tolerance is allowed) to prevent print waste due to changes in brand filament spool dimensions.
  • If you want to create other filament spools for which I haven't uploaded profiles, the parametric editable model I made with Fusion 360 and SCAD requires you to manually measure the following data (no need to leave gaps; the model already accounts for clearance, please directly enter the measured data):
    料盘外径Outer Diameter
    轮毂直径Hub Diameter
    料盘內高Inner Height
    中心孔直径Center Hole Diameter
    料盘壁厚Thickness

Bambu Lab community users can directly click the "Customize" button, and you will get perfectly adapted storage boxes and center column connecting parts. (Note: Currently, this parametric setting is only suitable for filament spools around 1KG, covering over 90% of spools. If it's a common brand, you can also leave a message telling me the relevant dimensions.)

  • The label paper is parametrically editable, label groove sizes are uniform, and label dimensions are universal. The red area is the text boundary, please do not exceed this range.

  • More types of branded filament spool storage towers will be uploaded gradually; if interested, you can save them.

🐥Assembly Instructions:

  • Assembling the storage box model with the filament spool requires M3 flat-head (self-tapping) screws (this is what I consider the most secure method), with thread lengths of 10mm or more, M3*12—M3*25; if the spool holes are larger, M4 screws can also be used.
Align the screw with the holes in the filament spool and storage box, then tighten (can be done manually, or with less effort using an electric screwdriver).
Tighten the flat-head screw until it is flush with the filament spool surface (if you want it tighter, i.e., screw it in a bit more, please adjust the tightness as needed).
