Print Profile(1)

Description
This is a 100% 3D printed lockable storage box featuring a classic Japanese Asanoha pattern on the lid and a modern ribbed texture on the body.
The lid uses an Expansion Mechanism, which is a very simplified version based on Mechanism #224 from the well known book named 507 Mechanical Movements by Henry T. Brown.

This mechanism allows for the lid to lock to the 4 lateral faces of the base.
So, after assembly, just turn the knob clockwise to lock the lid, and counter clockwise to unlock it!
Assembly Instructions:
Remove the support structures from the 4 holes of the mechanism base:

Fully slide the 4 arms into the housing.
Insert the wheel, ensuring the arm pins align with the wheel slots.
Verify the movement of the mechanism:

Align the lid with the assembled mechanism base.
Invert the entire assembly while holding the pieces together.
Insert the 4 matching screws into the holes.
Tighten (using a coin for example) until you feel resistance (bottoming out). Do not over-tighten.

Align the Asanoha pattern pins with the lid holes and press into place.
Note: Handle with care to ensure the pins do not snap during installation.

Remove the support material from the bottom side of the knob.

Align the knob with the square pin on the lid and press it down until it is fully seated.

Insert the final screw into the knob and tighten it (using a coin for example) until you feel resistance ("bottoming out"). Do not over-tighten.
Insert the finishing cap into the screw recess until it sits flush.
Optional: Attach 4 x 8mm rubber feet to the base for added grip and to protect your surfaces.
Assembly complete!
You can now place the lid onto the box base.
Rotating the knob clockwise locks the box, while rotating it counter-clockwise unlocks it.
