Description
ScanPilot – Modular Document Scanner Rig
I got tired of document scanning apps being expensive, overloaded with features, or full of ads – and of constantly renaming files and folders by hand.
So I designed and printed my own document scanner rig and built a minimal iOS app (ScanPilot) around it.
This model is a stable, adjustable scanner stand for smartphones, designed to give you:
- consistent camera distance
- repeatable framing
- clean, shadow-free scans
- fast, semi-automated digitization workflows
The rig is optimized for flat documents (receipts, letters, invoices, stickers, manuals) and works with any scanning app – but it’s specifically designed to pair nicely with ScanPilot, my lightweight iOS scanner app.
About the ScanPilot iOS App
ScanPilot focuses only on what’s necessary:
- fast capture
- manual crop with auto-analyze option
- structured file naming (Type / Sender / Date / Folder modes)
- clean PDF export
- no ads, no subscriptions, no tracking
The app is currently in TestFlight beta.
