Street Legends – Racing Book Nook
Street Legends – Racing Book Nook is a modular, LED-lit book nook designed to bring urban street racing culture directly into your bookshelf.
The model features five individual garage-style compartments arranged vertically, each designed as a miniature scene for iconic street racing cars. Color-coded drawers, layered walls, and controlled depth create a strong diorama effect, while ambient LED lighting adds atmosphere and visual focus.
This design combines storytelling, display, and functionality — transforming a bookshelf slot into a dynamic racing showcase. Each compartment can be printed separately, customized in color, and illuminated individually, making the model flexible for makers and collectors.
🔧 LED & Electronics Setup (tested configuration)
The book nook was designed and tested using 5V COB LED lighting components:
- LED strips:
5 mm COB LED Strip, DC 5V
Cut into 10 segments of 6 cm each - Mounting:
LED strips are attached directly to the 3D-printed parts using the integrated self-adhesive backing - Connectors:
5 mm COB LED wire connectors (solderless mini buckle type)
Used for clean and tool-free wiring - Power input:
USB Type-C female chassis connector (24 AWG)
Allows simple 5V power supply via USB
The internal geometry includes space for cable routing and connectors, keeping wiring hidden and assembly clean.
🚗 Vehicle Compatibility
The compartments are sized to display 1:64 scale die-cast cars, tested with a 5-pack street racing set.
Other 1:64 models with similar dimensions will also fit.
