This is my modified version of a Russian Chetki, also known as a “rosary” Originally developed and used by Russian prisoners as an alternative to traditional rosaries, these objects are now very popular as fidget toys for everyone
The ends of the Chetki differ: The “lacing” end has a side hole that allows the cord to be threaded in and out The cord is then knotted and lightly melted with a lighter The “end piece”, on the other hand, has no opening The total length, including the links, is approximately 20 to 23 centimeters, which corresponds to a standard size Alternatively, the measurement is given from the tip of the middle finger to the first crease of the wrist plus 2 centimeters
For manufacturing, I use a 1 millimeter strong nylon cord By melting the end and shaping a pointed tip, threading is made easier However, pulling the cord out can be a challenge Usually, I cut off the melted end and pull it through with a fishing line loop If this process is unclear, please let me know
