Dragon Statue – Malefor, the Dark Master

(The Legend of Spyro)

This detailed dragon statue presents the Dark Master Malefor in his full, majestic presence and is aimed at demanding prints with high quality requirements.

Since the print profile originally available on MakerWorld led to quality issues and an increased risk of misprints for many users, I have made targeted printing-technical optimizations.
Specifically, the position of the second wing was adjusted, and Support for PLA was used for a significantly cleaner separation of the support structures.

The support structures of the wings can thus be removed easily and in a controlled manner.
In the base area, removal is naturally a bit more challenging. Here, the process can be further simplified by:

• Supports for small overhangs are deactivated
• Supports are generated exclusively from the print bed

However, these adjustments are optional – even with the standard settings, the supports can be cleanly removed with a little patience and care.

Recommended Print Settings (H2D & H2C)

• Layer height: 0.16 mm
• Wall generator: Arachne
• Wall lines: 3
• Infill density: 15 %
• Infill pattern: Gyroid
• Supports: Activated
  • incl. Support material for support/raft interfaces

Note:
If support material (especially PVA) is used for all support structures, the surface quality can be significantly increased – but at the cost of higher material costs.
