Description

Curtain Rod Bracket – Extra Clearance

This curtain rod bracket was designed to solve a common problem:
most brackets don’t extend far enough from the wall, especially when installing double curtains or when you don’t want to remove an existing curtain setup.

I couldn’t find a design that:

  • provided enough wall clearance,
  • fit on the Bambu Lab A1 Mini build plate,
  • and allowed installing a second curtain without dismantling the previous one.

So I designed this one.

Curtain Rod Compatibility

  • Compatible with IKEA RÄCKA
  • Suitable for rods up to 28 mm diameter

🔩 Hardware Required

Wall mounting:

  • 2 × screws Ø4 × 40 mm
  • 2 × wall plugs Ø5 mm

Rod retention:

  • 1 × screw Ø3 mm × ~20 mm
  • Screws directly into the printed part (no insert needed)

🖨️ Printing Notes

  • Optimized for strength and durability
  • Designed to be printed flat on the bed
  • Separate print profiles provided for left and right orientation

🧪 Tested

Installed and tested with a 3-meter curtain rod, using three brackets, supporting a full curtain setup without issues. Really sturdy.

RECOMMENDED PRINT SETTINGS 

Material

  • PLA / PLA+ / PETG
    (PETG recommended if exposed to sun/heat)

Nozzle

  • 0.4 mm

Layer height

  • 0.20 mm

Walls

  • 3-4 wall loops (≈ 1.6 mm)

Infill

  • 20% Grid or Gyroid minimum

Top / Bottom

  • Top layers: 3–4
  • Bottom layers: 3

Supports

  • ❌ Not required
