Description

The Axis Lamp is a futuristic, industrial-style lighting prop designed to look like a power core or containment unit. With its bold "XY" geometric cutout and glowing energy coil, it makes the perfect addition to any gaming setup, desk, or sci-fi display.

This design is modular and easy to print. It utilizes a standard remote-controlled LED puck light, meaning no soldering or electronics knowledge is required, just print, assemble, and glow.

Features

  • Modular Design: Separates into easy-to-print components (Base, Shell, Inner Core, Diffuser).
  • No Electronics Skills Needed: Designed to fit standard battery-operated RGB puck lights.
  • Two-Tone Aesthetic: The inner sleeve provides high contrast against the outer shell (e.g., Black inner, White outer) while the top diffuser creates a soft "plasma" glow.

Bill of Materials (Hardware)

  • 1x LED Puck Light: Designed for standard 60mm circular push lights, such as the ones available from Bambu Lab (But often

also found on Amazon as "RGB Puck Lights with Remote").

  • Optional: Glue, if you want a permanent assembly, though friction fit usually works.

Printing Instructions

  • Material: PLA, PETG, or ABS.
  • Diffuser Part: Must be printed in Translucent, Clear, or White filament to allow the light to shine through effectively. Spiral Vase mode is optional for the diffuser for maximum brightness.
  • Layer Height: 0.2mm standard.
  • Infill: 8% is sufficient for the body parts.
  • Supports: painted supports are in place for the "XY" bridging, default slicer supports will most likely end up in a failed print. Specifically around the middle parts of the ‘X'  and ‘Y’.

Assembly Guide

  1. Place the LED puck light into the inner Base.
  2. Insert the Black Inner Cylinder into the White Outer Shell.
  3. Push the inner cap into the outer cap (preferably gluing it in place).
  4. Push the Translucent Diffuser onto the cap.
  5. Screw the cap and screw onto the base.
  6. Use the remote to change colors and set the mood! (Pointing at the translucent screw part)
