Description

Small repair clip designed to fix a rod that had come unsoldered from the frame on my IKEA MULIG drying rack. Instead of throwing the whole rack away or trying to re-weld the joint, this part clamps the loose rod back into position on the frame.

About the design Modeled to wrap around both the detached rod and the frame tube, holding them together under the loads a drying rack typically sees (wet laundry, towels, bedsheets).

Recommended print settings

  • Material: TPU — the slight flex helps the clip snap into place and grip both tubes firmly without cracking
  • Layer height: 0.2 mm
  • Walls: 4+ for strength
  • Infill: 40–60%
  • No supports needed

Real-world testing I've had this installed on my own MULIG rack for several months. It has held up well under daily laundry loads with no signs of fatigue, slipping, or deformation.

Installation Slide or snap the clip over the broken joint so it bridges the rod and the frame. The TPU flex lets it grip tightly once in place.

A simple, free alternative to replacing the whole rack — saves the item from landfill and takes about 30 minutes to print.
