Description

A minimalist, wall-mounted book ledge designed to display children's picture books with their covers facing forward. Perfect for creating an accessible, visually appealing book wall in a kid's room or reading nook.

Features:

The J-profile design holds books securely while keeping them easy for little hands to browse and grab. The modular system allows you to create shelves of any length by joining multiple segments together with included connector clips.

What's Included

  • Main shelf segment (J-channel profile)
  • Joining clips for connecting multiple segments
  • End caps for a finished look

Design Details

  • Clean, modern aesthetic that blends with any room
  • Countersunk screw holes for flush wall mounting
  • Segments can be combined to span any wall width
  • Low-profile design keeps focus on the books

Printing Notes

  • The examples in the pics are printed using the standard Bambu 0.20mm PLA profile
  • No supports required
  • Shelves print upright so that layer lines run vertically when mounted — this takes longer but provides significantly better strength where it matters, with layers resisting the downward load of the books rather than risking de-lamination
  • If you're using a bedslinger (like the A1), print one shelf segment at a time to avoid artifacts from the Y-axis movement on tall, narrow prints
  • Brim is not required — the default auto-brim setting will add one, but you can safely turn it off. If you do print with a brim, some cleanup will be needed afterwards

Assembly

The connectors are designed for a tight friction fit — you may need to gently tap the segments together to fully close the gaps. I recommend adding a little glue to the joints before mounting.  Glue keeps the joints tight and lets the screw holes deform slightly instead of the shelf pulling apart a little when mounting.

Installation

Mount directly to wall studs or use appropriate anchors for your wall type. The design allows screws to sit flush within the channel, hidden behind the books.
