Description

Compact 4-liter filament box for safe storage of 65mm 1-kg filament spools.

The box is airtight and has space for silica gel to reliably keep moisture out. Ideal for PLA, PETG, and other common filaments.

Easy to print, space-saving, and perfect for clean, dry storage.

You will also need 6x M4 hex nuts, 6x M4 screws (10 mm) and a 20mm rod (cardboard, PVC, …).

For the 3D printed parts:

 

  • my printer: Creality K1 SE

 

  • 15% infill, Grid

 

  • No supports 

 

 

Assembling:

 

  1. Print the parts
  2. Press the M4 hex nuts into the hexagonal holes.
  3. Drill three 5mm holes on each side of the box (see picture).
  4. Now screw the parts onto the box.
  5. Now drill a 5 mm hole for the plug-in screw connection as the filament outlet. The position depends on the printer;

    I made it in the cover. I recommend drilling out the screw connection slightly with a 3 mm drill bit so that the filament can pass through more easily.

  6. Fill the box with 100g of silica gel.
  7. If your filament roll is difficult to turn, you can bend the grip dents outward using heat.
