Description

Primitive Parametric Switch Box is a simple, functional, and fully parametric box designed for various sizes of rocker and toggle switches.

This project was created as a primitive, no-frills box, focused on functionality, easy customization, and fast 3D printing.

This model was originally created for a 15 × 21 mm rocker switch, and the default parameters are preset to fit this switch size.

All key dimensions can be adjusted in parameters, allowing the box to fit different switch sizes and cable configurations without redesigning the model.

Adjustable parameters:

  • Internal width and height for different switch bodies
  • Box depth depending on switch length
  • Wall thickness for strength or material savings
  • Cable hole diameter for various wire sizes

Printing settings

Printed with 0.2 mm layer height using standard Bambu Studio settings.

Suitable for PLA and PETG filaments.

Wall loops note:
When using a 2 mm wall thickness, set at least 2 wall loops to ensure the walls are printed solid, without internal infill.

For thicker walls, the number of wall loops can be increased so the model remains fully solid, or alternatively the infill settings can be adjusted depending on personal preference and print requirements.

This switch box is ideal for:

  • DIY electronics projects
  • Prototyping
  • Workshop tools
  • Temporary or permanent switch installations

Simple. Primitive. Practical.
