This shelf is designed for users who want their Bambu printer to exist in a clean, curated office or studio environment rather than a workshop. It is intended as a display object first and furniture second. Similar to how a Bang & Olufsen radio or a bonsai tree becomes a visual centerpiece, this shelf turns a Bambu printer into a deliberate part of the interior.
This is intentionally not a storage solution.
There is no space for dual AMS units, tools, spare filament rolls, or accessories. All of that belongs in a workshop or storage room.
The design was created for personal use in a office without a dedicated workspace, where aesthetics matter as much as functionality.
This shelf is for BambuLab P1, X1 and P2 printers.
Although the shelf may appear thin and tall at first glance, it is structurally stable. The IKEA bamboo legs include factory-installed metal bases and are securely fastened to the bamboo base plates using wood screws. There are very low structural forces acting on the printed components. For additional stability on hard floors, it is recommended to add felt pads to the ends of the legs. There are 5mm clearances on the sides, so the printer can move naturally during printing. If resonance or noise occurs in your setup, simply add small foam squares between the printer and the side panels.
For testing purposes of this build I made another model “Resonance & Vibration test print for printer/table”
To convert those "Movements per second" to Hertz's (Hz) or other units, use application “Resonance - Vibration Analysis” search on Android & iPhone.
Assembly manual:
Printing information:
Printing all parts takes approximately 30 hours using a standard 0.4 mm nozzle.
Total filament usage is around 1.7 kg.
PLA or PETG both work well; strength requirements are moderate, visual quality is the priority.
Required non-printed parts (IKEA):
• 4× bamboo table legs “HILVER” (802.782.73)
• 2× bamboo side plates 39×80 cm “FRÖJERED” (104.416.25)
• 48× wood screws, 15 mm
Tools required:
• Handsaw – required to cut the bamboo side plates into two parts, use tablesaw for better quality.
• Electric screwdriver – there are a lot of screws.
REMEMBER!
This is not PRINT&GO model, it takes a little time to build and additional tools and materials.
With this your Bambu printer will be the central object of the room - not hidden, not surrounded by clutter, but clearly on display!
Happy printing!
