Description

This flexible nose pad is designed as a comfortable alternative to the hard plastic nose pads commonly found on trial frames.

It provides natural movement, good pressure distribution on the nose and comfort during extended wear. I tested it with patients and in 20' exams i had no issues with comfort.

It can also be used to repair or replace missing or broken nose pads on trial frames or eyewear where the original part is difficult or impossible to source.

-Key features

  • Flexible & adaptive design: allows slight movement to follow facial anatomy
  • Much more comfortable than rigid plastic nose pads
  • Ideal replacement part for missing or damaged nose pads
  • Easy to install on standard trial frames
  • Lightweight and discreet
  • Designed for optometric and ophthalmic use

 Material recommendation

For best comfort, TPU is strongly recommended, preferably:

  • Softer TPU (85A–95A) for maximum comfort
  • TPU 95A works well, but softer TPU improves cushioning

Rigid filaments (PLA, PETG, ABS) are not recommended due to reduced comfort.

 Printing notes

  • Print in TPU
  • No supports needed
  • Orientation as shown in preview
  • Layer height can be adjusted depending on desired surface finish

Ideal for:

  • Trial frames with uncomfortable hard nose pads
  • Repairing glasses with missing or broken nose pads
  • Frames with hard-to-find replacement parts
  • Patients sensitive to nose pressure
  • Long refraction sessions
