Material Recommendations for Heavy-Duty Use

For light household use (dry goods and cool liquids), PLA is sufficient. However, for heavy-duty, automotive, or chemical applications, the following materials are highly recommended:

• ASA (Best Choice): High resistance to UV, weather, and chemicals. It handles heat exceptionally well and is the ideal choice for funnels kept in a garage or used for outdoor equipment.
• ABS: Provides excellent heat resistance and durability for mechanical and shop environments.
• PETG: A great middle-ground that offers chemical resistance and higher heat tolerance than PLA, without the printing complexity of ASA/ABS.

Note: If printing with ABS or ASA, an enclosed printer is recommended to prevent warping, and ensure your workspace is well-ventilated.

Key Design Features

• Anti-Glug Air Ribs: Integrated channels on the outer spout allow air to exit the container as you pour. This prevents the vacuum effect that causes splashing and glugging.
• Vertical Splash Guard: A vertical rim extension at the top provides extra volume and catches sloshing liquid, allowing for faster, safer pours.
• Centered Hanging Handle: The ergonomic handle includes a perfectly centered hole, ensuring the funnel hangs straight on a pegboard or hook.
• Support-Free Geometry: All angles are optimized for 3D printing. No supports are required for any part of this model, including the handle.

Printing Instructions

• Watertight Walls: To ensure the funnel is leak-proof, use at least 3 or 4 perimeters (walls).
• Overhang Safety: For a support-free print, ensure the Cone Height is at least 50% of the Top Diameter.
• Orientation: Always print with the wide mouth facing down on the build plate for the best adhesion and stability.

Chemical Safety: If you use this funnel for automotive fluids, oils, or harsh chemicals, clearly mark the funnel and do not use it for food or drink preparation afterward. Even thorough washing may not remove all chemical residues from the porous surface of a 3D print.
