🎨 Figure Painting Step-by-Step Guide

🔧 Preparation Phase

1. Sanding: Gently sand mold lines and imperfections with 1000-grit sandpaper
2. Priming: Spray a layer of gray surfacer (e.g., Gunze B511) to check for any remaining imperfections, then lightly sand smooth with 1500-grit sandpaper after drying

 

🖌️ Sectional Painting (from inside to out, light to dark)

1. Skin

- Base Coat: Spray the entire skin area with Gunze N2 (light skin tone), applying 2-3 thin layers to ensure even color
- Shadows: Mix Gunze N3 (light brown) with a small amount of N2 and apply shadows to recessed areas like eye sockets, neck, armpits, and inner thighs to create a sense of depth
- Highlights: Mix N2 with a small amount of white and apply highlights to prominent areas like cheekbones, bridge of the nose, and knees to brighten

2. Hair

- Base Color: First, spray Gunze N41 (sky blue) as the base color, covering the entire hair area
- Gradient Transition: At the hair ends, mix Gunze N19 (pink) with N41 in a 1:1 ratio and apply a gradient spray for a natural color transition
- Bow: Spray the bow in the hair with Gunze N15 (black), cleaning up the edges with a fine brush
- Details: Use a fine brush dipped in white to dot highlights along the hair strands, enhancing the hair's texture

3. Clothing

- Jacket: Spray 2-3 thin layers of Gunze N51 (lemon yellow), ensuring a bright color with no show-through
- Inner Wear and Skirt:
- Inner Wear: Spray with Gunze N15 (black), being careful not to spray the edges of the jacket
- Skirt: First, spray a base coat of Gunze N70 (dark brown), then use a fine brush with Gunze N6 (red) and N15 (black) to paint the plaid pattern
- Bow Tie: First, apply a white base coat, then paint black stripes, ensuring the lines are even

4. Shoes and Socks

- Socks: Apply Gunze N1 (white) as a base, then use N15 (black) to paint the black stripes at the sock openings
- Boots: Spray with Gunze N15 (black), and after drying, use a fine brush with white to paint the decorative lines on the sides of the shoes

5. Base

- Base Color: Mix Gunze N19 (pink) with clear gloss coat and spray onto the base to create a translucent effect
- Star Pattern: Use masking tape to create star shapes, then spray Gunze N1 (white), and peel off the tape to reveal clear star patterns

 

✨ Finishing Phase

1. Matte Protection: Apply a full coat of matte varnish (e.g., Gunze B530) to protect the paint surface and unify the sheen
2. Detail Touch-up: Use a fine brush to fix any color bleed or imperfections, checking that all details are complete
