🔹 Intro

Grow fresh microgreens indoors all year round – even in winter or in a small apartment – with this simple, low-cost DIY Micro Garden.

🔹 Description

This Micro Garden was designed for growing microgreens indoors, especially during winter or for people who don’t have access to a garden or outdoor space.

Using this setup, you can grow fresh pea shoots in as little as 7 days, thanks to a compact grow light and a simple but effective design. The attached photos show the full process – from planting seeds to harvesting healthy green shoots.

All parts needed for assembly are described in the included assembly manual. The design is optimized for easy printing, simple assembly, and flexibility, so you can adapt it to your own needs.

The idea for this project came from a simple reason:
My wife wanted to buy a similar product for 120€.
Instead, I designed this version – which you can build yourself for around 10€, including the light.

🔹 Key Features

  • 🌱 Designed for indoor microgreens growing
  • 💡 Compatible with cheap LED grow lights (I used one from TEMU)
  • 🔧 Can also be used with any other LED light or LED strip
  • 🛠️ Additional mounting holes for custom setups and adjustments
  • 🔌 Integrated cable channel with a removable cover for clean cable management
  • 🧩 Modular and easy to assemble
  • 🖨️ Optimized for 3D printing
  • 💰 Extremely low-cost DIY alternative to expensive commercial systems

🔹 What You Can Grow

This Micro Garden is not limited to pea shoots. You can also grow:

  • Pea microgreens
  • Radish microgreens
  • Broccoli microgreens
  • Sunflower microgreens
  • Mustard greens
  • Alfalfa
  • And many other types of microgreens

Simply adjust seed density and harvesting time to your preference.

🔹 Lighting Information

For the grow light, I used an inexpensive LED light purchased on TEMU (link), but you are free to use:

  • Any other grow light
  • A standard LED strip
  • Custom lighting solutions

Thanks to the extra mounting holes, the system can be easily adapted to different lighting setups.

🔹 Why This Design?

  • Commercial microgreen systems are overpriced
  • This design is simple, functional, and affordable
  • Perfect for apartments, kitchens, or small spaces
  • Fresh greens at home, all year round
  • A great DIY project for makers and plant lovers
