Enhanced AMS Spool Adapter for SUNLU 250g spools

I had several small SUNLU 250 g spools for special filaments like glowing PETG or a set with 10 different colors  which are often available for a good price.

Of course I want to use them with the Bambu Lab AMS which will only work with an adapter.

I have tried some other adapters but having some issues I decided to design a new one.

Issues I had with other adapters:

• Filament gets stuck between adapter and spool

  

   

  Fixed by having a closed ring around the spool in addition with a 45° chamfer, so the filament can slide back to the spool.

  

• Issue that the spool slides within the adapter or an adapter within the adapter and therefore the AMS could not unload the filament

  Fixed by adding multiple fixing points

  

• Issue that the thread of the adapter gets loose and therefore the AMS could not unload the filament or the adapter completely blocks the spool movement
  Fixed by a thread with small tolerance and a smaller pitch. Additionally the inside width of the adapter has the same width as the spool so the adapter can be tighten without applying to much force on the spool.
• This reminds me of the next issue where adapter with a ring can bend the spool on the outside, because the ring to prevent the filament getting stuck between the spool and the adapter is only on the outside.
  Fixed by the outside ring and the spokes having the same width.
• Issues of a hoping spool, because the adapter is too light and flexible.
  Fixed by a firm design which is weight optimized and therefore stiff and not to heavy.
  E. g. there is a modifier with more infill in the middle of the adapter to have a more stable thread and inner ring. 
• Issues of a slipping adapter on the outside between adapter and AMS
  Fixed by having added a modifier on the outside ring surface with fuzzy skin.
• Compatible with  EIBOS Series X dryer
  Issue some other adapter are to narrow, i.e. having contact with some parts of the filament inlet

  Fixed by a wider spool adapter design
   

  

• I highly recommend printing the spool adapter in PETG as there are also SUNLU 250 g spools available with PETG filament.
