Description

Keep your yarn from rolling around in cute style! All the parts print separately so you can make them any color you'd like; I used matte filaments, but you should be fine with any type you'd like to use - I tried to built in enough tolerance to account for silk's famous shrink problem. If you find that the parts are not fitting the way you'd like, you can change the size in 1% intervals until they fit comfortably.

These will fit up to a bulky skein comfortably, but there is room to size up if you'd like (just remember to size up on EVERY part), and I have tested them down to 50% if you prefer a smaller bowl (keep in mind that the tool hole in the tail will also shrink!). There are a few supports necessary on the spiral part of the bowl and on the tail, so I have included a 3MF file with pre-painted supports. I like tree supports on yarn bowls, as I find them a little easier to remove on the sometimes-wiggly spiral. The ear and blush inserts are also a good time to use adaptive layers since it doesn't take too long and gives a nice finish!

3D PRINTING SETTINGS

Bowl: supports on the spiral are critical, .20mm layer. I was able to print at regular speed on a Bambu but you may choose to slow it down for maximum quality

Tail: .20mm layer with auto tree supports

Horn: .20mm layer, no supports required
FDM Printers (might work on resin, but I haven't tried!)

Ear inserts/Blush: .20mm layers are fine, but I like to do fine details in .16mm with adaptive layers

Eyes: Same as above; they are fine quality in .20mm layer but I like to do .16mm for maximum detail quality
