I have compiled a summary of some commonly used IKEA pegboard hooks (will be updated later), naming them with letters to distinguish between different styles. Each style is designed with some common sizes. All hooks are designed to fit 5mm thick IKEA pegboards and 1.2mm thick IKEA-hole metal pegboards

I use both types of pegboards myself and have tested all of them. Authentic IKEA pegboards work without issues. For the 1.2mm thick IKEA-hole pegboards, due to manufacturing tolerances from different manufacturers, they might be too loose or too tight

Below is a detailed introduction to each hook:

A: Only occupies the lower half of one pegboard hole, compact and space-saving, but unstable with limited load capacity

BD: Similar in structure, occupies two pegboard holes, one above the other. The upper hole occupies the lower half, and the lower hole occupies the upper half. The hook surface is flat, with one hook having a straight outer edge and the other an angled one

C: Occupies two pegboard holes, one above the other. The upper hole occupies the lower half, and the lower hole occupies the upper half. The hook surface is semicircular

E: Occupies two pegboard holes, one above the other. The upper hole occupies the lower half, and the lower hole occupies the upper half. The lower hole extends to form a supporting triangle, providing stronger load-bearing capacity. The hook surface is flat, and the outer edge of the hook is angled. Note, this hook is very long; the longer it is, the more prone it is to sway side to side

F: Occupies two pegboard holes, one above the other. The upper hole occupies the lower half, and the lower hole occupies the upper half. It is composed of a connecting piece and the hook body, assembled separately. This is equivalent to a double-row angled hook, suitable for hanging scissors and hammers. The front-to-back distance of the rod is approximately 2.5cm

G: Occupies two pegboard holes, one above the other. The upper hole occupies the lower half, and the lower hole occupies the upper half. It is composed of a connecting piece and the hook body, assembled separately. It features a flat, rounded rectangular shape

H: Occupies two pegboard holes, one above the other. The upper hole occupies the lower half, and the lower hole occupies the upper half. It is composed of a connecting piece and the hook body, assembled separately. It features a flat circular shape

I: Occupies two pegboard holes, one above the other. The upper hole occupies the lower half, and the lower hole occupies the upper half. This is an upgraded version of the E-type hook, with the lower support extending to the farthest end. Note, this hook is very long; the longer it is, the more prone it is to sway side to side

J: Occupies two pegboard holes, one above the other. The upper hole occupies the lower half, and the entire lower hole. This is a heavy-duty hook, composed of a connecting piece and the hook body, assembled separately. It is a thickened and reinforced version of B

K: Occupies two pegboard holes, one above the other. The upper hole occupies the lower half, and the entire lower hole. This is a heavy-duty hook, composed of a connecting piece and the hook body, assembled separately. It is a thickened and reinforced version of E

L: Occupies two pegboard holes, one above the other. The upper hole occupies the lower half, and the entire lower hole. This is a heavy-duty hook, composed of a connecting piece and the hook body, assembled separately. It is a thickened and reinforced version of C
