🎨 Yao: Meet the Divine Deer Figure - Step-by-Step Painting Process

This process is designed based on the principle of "base coat first, then details; large areas first, then small parts," to help you avoid color bleeding and make painting easier.

 

🔹 Step One: Pre-treatment (Preparation before painting)

1. Clean and Sand: Use a cotton swab with alcohol to clean the model surface, removing mold release agent and dust. Gently sand with 1000-grit sandpaper to improve paint adhesion.
2. Apply Primer: Spray a layer of gray liquid primer (such as Mr. Hobby SF-285) to both check for imperfections and ensure more even subsequent coloring.
3. Masking Protection: Use masking tape and masking fluid to completely cover areas that will not be painted temporarily. For example, when painting hair first, mask the face and clothes.

 

🔹 Step Two: Large Area Base Coating

1. White Deer Body
- First, spray **Pure White (Mr. Hobby H1)** as the base coat, applying 2-3 layers to ensure complete coverage.
- After the base coat dries, use Light Gray (Mr. Hobby H30) to spray shadows on the underside of the body and the inner sides of the limbs, creating a three-dimensional effect.
2. Character Hair
- Spray **Light Purple (Mr. Hobby H301)** as the base coat, applying 2-3 layers.
- Use Dark Purple (Mr. Hobby H302) to spray shadows at the hair roots and along the strands, then use White (H1) to highlight the hair tips and crown.
3. Outfit Outerwear
- Spray **Mint Green (Mr. Hobby H40)** as the base coat, applying 2-3 layers.
- Use Dark Green (Mr. Hobby H31) to spray shadows on folds and edges, adding depth.
4. Base
- Spray **Mint Green (Mr. Hobby H40)** as the base coat.
- Use Light Blue (Mr. Hobby H41) to spray highlights on edges and raised areas, giving the base more luster.

 

🔹 Step Three: Detail Painting (Brush painting primarily)

1. Face Details
- Apply Flesh Pink (Mr. Hobby H28) as the base color for the face. After it dries, use Pink (H10) for blush and lip color.
- Use Dark Pink (Mr. Hobby H308) for the eye base, then use White (H1) for highlights to make the eyes more lively.
2. Outfit Details
- Apply Coral Red (Mr. Hobby H6) to the inner lining and sashes. After it dries, use Dark Red (H7) to deepen shadows on the folds.
- Use Gold (Mr. Hobby H21) to brush-paint the leg bindings and outline the garment patterns.
3. White Deer Details
- Use Pink (H10) for the plum blossom petals on the antlers, then use Gold (H21) for the stamens.
- Use Gold (Mr. Hobby H21) to brush-paint the texture lines on the body.
4. Base Pattern
- Use White (H1) to outline the cloud pattern on the base, then use Gold (H21) to adorn the edges.

 

🔹 Step Four: Finishing and Protection

1. Check and Touch-up: Conduct a thorough check and touch up any areas where colors are uneven or missed.
2. Apply Protective Coat: After all colors are dry, spray a layer of matte protective varnish (such as Mr. Hobby B-514) to protect the paint finish and unify the overall texture.
3. Assemble Parts: After the protective varnish dries, assemble the figure, white deer, and base to complete the entire model.

- Face: Flesh Pink base color + Dark Pink blush + Wine Red lip color, eyes are Dark Pink gradient + White highlights
