DIY Storage Basket

Why make this storage basket

I've seen many storage basket models on MakerWorld, but I never actually printed any
The reasons are mainly twofold:

• If it's just to "hold things", then 3D printing isn't cost-effective—off-the-shelf products are cheaper and sturdier
• If it's fully custom-made for an individual, everyone's needs vary too much, making it hard to create a universal, reusable design

This got me thinking:
Is there a solution that lies between "off-the-shelf products" and "highly customized"

Core of the Design: Not a Basket, but a 'Cup Holder'

The focus of this model isn't on a specific storage box, but on the **central tray structure**

Inspired by milk tea cup holders:

• A tray that can **securely hold 4 independent storage baskets**
• The central handle allows the entire set of storage baskets to be **picked up and moved at once**

Whether for cleaning the desk, temporary organization, or storing the entire set in a cabinet, this "**multi-compartment simultaneous lift**" method is more efficient than individual baskets and better suits daily usage habits

Modular, not a One-Time Solution

All storage boxes have **uniform external dimensions**, but the **internal structure is open**:

• Cosmetics: require more dividers and finer classification

• Kitchen items: consider drainage, ventilation

• Crafts / Parts storage: grid layout suitable for small items

For different needs, you only need to swap out the baskets, instead of reprinting an entirely new storage box

Current Version & Future Plans

The current **V1 version** is primarily to validate one direction:
A **frequently usable structural base + sustainably expandable storage system**

Future optimization directions include:

• Adaptability for more storage solutions
• Fixing solution between the tray and storage boxes
• Whether to support stackable storage/Gridfinity…
