Description

This file is for a set of Guitar (or other instrument) Fret Seating Blocks. I have often hammered in frets and found that I accidentally whacked the fretboard somewhere and produced a small dent. These blocks eliminate that by allowing you to seat the whole fret by hitting the top of the block instead of directly on the fret. You could also use these with a clamp for a make-shift fret pressing system.

The set contains multiple sizes all in 1 build plate:

  1. 6in Radius
  2. 7.25in Radius
  3. 9.5in Radius
  4. 12in Radius
  5. 16in Radius
  6. 20in Radius
  7. Problem Point Focus Block (20in radius)
  8. I can easily add more if you need a specific size.

These were primarily sized for medium fretwire and would have no problems with larger fretwire. Double-check fit if using a particularly small fretwire… you don't want the groove to dig into the fretboard instead of seating the fret.

I printed out of Bambu's PLA Tough+, which I would recommend since this tool is meant to take a beating. You could use PLA, it just might not last as long due to PLA's brittle nature. PETG or another performance material would probably work well.

Gridfinity bins for these tools can be found here (still need to add the focus block): https://makerworld.com/en/models/2355932-gridfinity-for-luthier-fret-seating-blocks#profileId-2577088
