Description

Blank Man: Pop-Top [No. 5] – Fully Print-in-Place, No Supports, Improved Joints

Blank Man is back — and this time he’s had a proper overhaul.

Blank Man: Pop-Top is a fully print-in-place character, including the head, with improved articulation, better reliability across different printers, and zero supports required.

This version is the result of a lot of user feedback, testing, and real-world printing, so a big thank you to everyone who’s downloaded, commented, and made suggestions so far — it genuinely shaped this update.

What’s New:

  • Fully print-in-place design
No assembly needed — everything prints as one piece, including the head.
  • Improved head movement
The head can now tilt up and down slightly, adding more expression and poseability.
  • Refined joints across the whole model
All joints have been reworked to be more forgiving and consistent across a wider range of printers and filaments.
  • No supports required
Prints cleanly straight off the bed.

Included Print Profiles

To make this as accessible as possible, I’ve included multiple print plates so users can pick what works best for them:

  • Standard profile
The recommended version — reliable, well-balanced, and tested extensively.
  • Fast profile (~1 hour)
For quick prints or batch runs, with slightly reduced detail but solid results.
  • PETG profile
Tuned for PETG to improve joint longevity and durability.
  • Loose-tolerance profile
Designed for trickier filaments, less-tuned printers, or anyone who finds the standard version a little tight.

Thanks

Huge thanks again to everyone who’s provided feedback, requests, and support — Blank Man: Pop-Top wouldn’t be here without it.
If you have ideas for future tweaks, accessories, or variants, feel free to drop them in the comments.

Happy printing!

This model is part of an ongoing exploration into 3D-printed articulation. Each entry in the "Blank Man" series is a distinct, standalone engineering project—built from the ground up to test specific mechanical functions (such as print-in-place tolerances, magnetic integration, or advanced joint ranges). Unlike a simple version update, each "Blank" offers a completely different assembly logic and play-style for the community to explore.
