Description

🥾⛺ Trekking Pole Connector — When “Snug Fit” Becomes a Feature

I originally designed this part thinking it would be useful for temporarily holding trekking poles together during awkward moments on trail.

Turns out…
That’s not what it’s best at.

What it is absolutely perfect for is locking two trekking poles together into one rigid unit — and once they’re in, they are not coming apart unless you want them to.

Designed for Naturehike carbon fiber poles, it works with anything around 16 mm diameter. The fit is extremely snug, and that’s not a mistake — it’s what makes this thing shine.

⚙️ What It’s Actually Great At

  • Permanently-ish connecting two poles into one solid support
  • Ideal for tarp setups where you need a taller, stronger, single pole
  • Once clipped in, the poles behave like one long, stubborn structural element
  • Survives abuse, vibration, and questionable transport decisions

If you’re hauling gear in the back of a sketchy mountain truck, I can confidently say:
not even a nuclear explosion will separate them.
(Okay, maybe a small one. But you get the idea.)

🧱 Design Notes

  • Ultra-snug fit by design — this is not a quick-release clip
  • Holds alignment under load, making it great for heavy tarps or bad weather setups
  • Simple geometry, no moving parts, nothing to fail

🖨️ Printing Info

  • Material: PLA works fine; PETG if you want extra toughness
  • Supports: None
  • Weight: ~16 grams
  • Infill: Moderate to high infill recommended — this one likes commitment

🧠 Field Verdict

Sometimes you design a thing for one purpose, test it outdoors, and discover it’s way better at something else.

This is one of those times.

If you need two poles to behave like one unreasonably stable pole, this connector does exactly that — quietly, brutally, and without apologies.
