Description

🔌 Bambu Lab P2S – USB Port Sliding Cover

Dual Mechanical Stop · OEM-Style · Exclusive-Ready

✅ WHY THIS EXISTS

The front USB port on the Bambu Lab P2S is constantly exposed to dust, debris and accidental hits.
This model is not a simple cap — it’s a mechanically engineered sliding cover, designed to protect the port while maintaining a clean, factory-style look.

⚙️ KEY ENGINEERED FEATURES

  • Dual mechanical stop – locked in both OPEN and CLOSED positions
  • Smooth sliding mechanism – controlled movement, no accidental removal
  • OEM-style design – clean lines, no “3D printed toy” look
  • No magnets, no springs, no glue – pure mechanical solution
  • No supports required – optimized for reliable printing
  • Tested on a real Bambu Lab P2S

👉 As shown in the video, the cover slides smoothly but is mechanically stopped in both open and closed positions, preventing accidental removal.

🎥 FUNCTIONAL DEMONSTRATION

The included video shows:

  • controlled sliding motion
  • positive stop at full open
  • positive stop at full closed
  • no over-travel, no detachment

This is a functional test, not a cosmetic animation.

🖨️ PRINTING NOTES

  • Material: PLA / PLA Tough / PETG
  • Orientation: as provided
  • Supports: not needed
  • Tolerances designed for OEM-like fit

🧠 DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

This part was designed with an automotive mindset:

  • simple where possible
  • precise where it matters
  • function first, aesthetics as a consequence

The goal was to create a component that looks and behaves like something that should have been there from the factory.
