Hidden Heart a Heart Waves Perspective Piece

From straight lines to a heart to waves.
A kinetic object where motion, light and noise reveal what’s hidden.

This is not wall decor.
It’s a freestanding kinetic object, designed to work in open space, not on a wall.

From a straight-on view, everything appears calm and ordered: only straight, vertical lines.

As you move to a very sharp angle, the surface breaks up into soft, organic waves.
The heart disappears completely, replaced by visual noise and motion.

And somewhere in between, something happens.

Light and shadow align.
The waves begin to synchronize, the gaps close.
A heart slowly emerges.

The surface is built from evenly spaced vertical ribs, each shaped with  flowing heart waves.
These waves are intentionally tuned to create three distinct visual states:

• Front view: calm, straight lines
• Extreme angle: only waves and visual noise
• Transition angle: a heart revealed through motion

This constant shift makes the object feel alive.
It never looks the same twice, it reacts to your movement.

It rewards curiosity.
You don’t just look at it. You discover it.

Created with Valentine’s Day in mind, but intentionally timeless.
This piece is about perspective, closeness, and the idea that meaning often appears between viewpoints, not from just one.

Printing & Display Tips:

Filament choice:
Matte and darker filaments create the strongest light-and-shadow contrast in bright rooms.
In darker environments, lighter filaments can work surprisingly well.

Build plate:
Best results were achieved on the  Bambu Smooth PEI  plate but works also well with the Textured Plate.

Important:
Let the print cool down completely before removal.
The ribs are intentionally slim and can deform if removed while the plate is still warm. Be gentle!

Placement:
Place it where people naturally move past it, e.g. desks, shelves, sideboards or windowsills work great
