Nekomata cat
Print Profile(1)

Description
Cat sculpture of a pair of Nekomata.
Nekomata are evil malevolent yokai from japanese folklore, born as simple cats , they become nekomata after a really long life.
I see this as a symbol of long lasting love surviving time, a love beyond the physical world.
As they are mirroring themselve and forming a heart shape, i hope they may symbolise balance and harmony between two equals being.
A mating pair of nekomata says:
“Even if we become monsters in the eyes of the world, we remain faithful to each other.”
That’s not soft romance. That’s eternal, defiant love.
