Build Plate Holder for Vertical & Angled Storage

This freestanding build plate holder is designed to store five Bambu Lab 256×256 build plates in a compact, organized layout. It supports the standard plates used on the Bambu Lab X1, P1, and A1 series and is intended for placement next to the printer or on a workbench.

The holder uses an angled offset layout with side-entry slots. Plates are inserted from the side while remaining visible, making it easy to line up the correct slot during loading and removal. Shallow guide grooves are built into each slot to help plates slide into position smoothly without binding.

Each slot includes a V-shaped bottom contact point that centers the plate and holds it securely. This helps prevent lateral movement and keeps plates aligned, even when the holder is partially loaded.

The base is designed with a no-tip geometry. When force is applied from the side or during plate insertion, the outer edges of the base can flex slightly and guide the stand back into an upright position rather than allowing it to tip. This behavior helps maintain stability during normal use without requiring added weight or fasteners.

The angled offset layout improves access and spacing while also serving as a deliberate design choice to keep the holder compact and visually balanced in a workshop setting.

Design Notes

This model was designed specifically around the Bambu Lab 256×256 plate format. The side-entry slot geometry, V-shaped contact points, and base flexibility were refined through test prints to improve stability and ease of use. The angled offset layout is not required for function but was intentionally included to balance usability, spacing, and overall appearance.

This is an original design created for efficient build plate organization in a workshop environment.
