I designed these dust covers to protect ports from dust, debris, and airborne particles. They can also be used to color-code or mark specific ports as reserved or restricted.

Supported Port Types

  • USB-C
  • USB-A
  • USB-Micro B 2.0
  • Lightning
  • HDMI
  • DisplayPort
  • Ethernet
  • AUX 3.5mm Audio
  • USB-B

Version History & Printing Guidelines

v1.0 (Legacy)

  • Design: Printed vertically (standing up).
  • Limitations: Vertical printing can reduce layer adhesion strength in certain orientations, occasionally causing the covers to snap inside the port.
  • Recommendation: If printing this version, use the softest TPU material available to prevent breakage. Included in the Bill of Materials (BOM).

v2.0 (Reinforced)

  • Design: Model rotated horizontally (lying flat) to significantly increase structural strength.
  • Requirements: This orientation requires print supports.
  • Important Note: Thorough post-processing is mandatory. All support material must be completely removed, as any remaining fragments will prevent the cover from fitting into the port correctly.

v2.2 (Current Version)

  • Design: Optimized iteration of v2.0 with a reduced layer height to ensure smoother insertion and a more precise fit inside the ports.
  • Material Recommendation: Highly recommend printing with the softest available TPU, though PLA and PETG can also be used depending on user preference.
  • Important Note: Just like v2.0, this version requires meticulous post-processing to ensure all support structures are fully removed before usage.

Future Roadmap

Planned updates will expand the library to include covers for additional common connection standards, such as:

  • SD Card / Micro SD slots
  • DVI Ports
  • VGA Ports
  • SATA / eSATA Ports
  • Toslink (Optical Audio)
  • XLR Ports

Happy Printing
