Starship Troopers - Mobile Infantry Combat Helmet (Cosplay & Display)

Description:

"I'm doing my part!" – Now it's your turn! 🚀

Get the iconic Mobile Infantry look directly onto your print bed. This helmet is meticulously recreated and perfect as a showpiece for your collection or as the centerpiece for your next cosplay.

📏 IMPORTANT: Scaling & Size This helmet is not "One Size Fits All". Since every head has a different shape and size, proper preparation is crucial:

  • For Display/Collectors: The standard size is suitable for a helmet stand or shelf.
  • For Cosplay/Wearable: Please be sure to measure your head circumference before printing!
    • Remember to leave some space inside for padding.
    • Scale the model in your slicer (X, Y, and Z proportionally) until the measurements fit your head. A test print of a "slice" (e.g., just a ring at temple height) can help save filament and check the fit.

🛠️ Assembly & Chin Strap To make the helmet realistic and wearable, the model is designed for use with a real textile strap:

  • The helmet should not only be printed but also fitted with a separate webbing strap.
  • A chin cup can be printed separately or made from foam and attached to the strap.
  • This provides significantly better wearing comfort and a more authentic look than a completely rigidly printed strap.

🎨 Painting & Post-Processing The helmet in the pictures was treated with a Dry-Brush technique.

  1. Primer in dark gray or black.
  2. Dry brush with silver/metallic paint to create the worn "Battle-Damage" look and highlight the edges.

Print Recommendations:

  • Material: PLA, PETG or ABS
  • Supports: Yes (Tree Supports recommended for easier removal)
  • Infill: 15% - 20% (sufficient for stability)

Happy printing! "Want to know more?" Then check out the profile for more models.

Please upload a photo of your make, I'd love to see how your helmets turned out!
