Barn (Sliding) Door Lock - Unlockable from Outside
Print Profile(1)

Description
Summary
A lock solution for your barn door (bathroom or bedroom) that can be unlocked from the outside with a narrow screwdriver. I didn't want to pay $40+ for something with similar functionality, and wife didn't want a cheap latch.
- Printed at an angle for extra strength, in PLA+. PLA would probably be fine - I made it extra thick for strength as well.
- Use supports
- I used 100% fill (50% should be fine)
- Printing at 45 degree angle for extra strength
I'm using a 1/2" dowel, about 8" long. To be honest I made and installed this a while ago so I don't remember the size of the drill bit - but the cylinder on the receiver is 3/4" in diameter (so probably a 3/4" drill bit). Be sure to line up the "receiver" with the "plate" before you drill holes ... Also, be sure your wood screws are long enough to sink into a stud - not just the drywall.
Been meaning to add a knob/handle (eye screw) to the dowel and paint it - got lazy and haven't finished it yet.
