Description

🌟 Design Inspiration
This fully parametric model is designed to celebrate love and connection.
It allows you to transform two Chinese names into a meaningful 3D-printed ornament, joined by a heart that symbolizes an eternal bond and a “sense of ritual” in everyday life.

Unlike Latin initials, Chinese names are represented by full characters (Hanzi).
This dedicated version has been specifically designed for Chinese characters, supporting 1–2 characters per person (full names), and carefully handling the complex strokes and disconnected parts commonly found in Hanzi.

To ensure reliable printing, each name can include an optional supporting backing plate, which helps keep delicate or “floating” strokes attached when printing vertically.

The heart represents love and emotional connection, a meaning widely understood in both Western and Chinese culture.
Red is traditionally associated with love, happiness, and celebration in Chinese culture, making this design especially suitable for couples, weddings, anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, 520, and Qixi Festival (七夕).

Key Features

  • Designed specifically for Chinese names (Hanzi)
  • Supports 1–2 characters per person (full names)
  • Fully parametric: no 3D modeling experience required
  • Optional backing plate for structural stability (recommended for Hanzi)
  • Adjustable heart size and position
  • Multi-part design for easy multi-color printing
  • Perfect as a romantic gift or elegant decorative item

🧩 Multi-Plate Printing (Recommended Workflow)
This model is designed to be printed using three separate plates:

  • Plate 1: Left name
  • Plate 2: Right name
  • Plate 3: Heart insert

Printing the parts separately makes it easy to:

  • use different colors (for example: gold names + red heart),
  • achieve cleaner results,
  • and assemble the final piece with a precise fit.

💡 Printing Tips

  • Color combinations
    • Classic: Red + Gold (love, good fortune & elegance)
    • Modern: Red + Purple / Pink (romantic & chic)
  • Materials
    • PLA Silk recommended for the names (premium metallic finish)
    • PLA Basic for the heart
  • Scaling
The model is scalable, but ensure characters remain thick enough for structural integrity.

🛠 Supports (Optional)
In most cases, supports are not required, thanks to the integrated backing plate behind each name.

However, depending on:

  • the selected font,
  • very thin strokes,
  • or aggressive scaling,

enabling light supports can help improve print reliability, especially around complex character details and backing plate edges.

Suggested settings:

  • Supports: Auto
  • Placement: Build plate only
  • Density: Low
  • Interface layers: 1–2

⚙️ Model Parameters Explained

Basic

  • left_char
Left name / character. Supports 1–2 Chinese characters (e.g. 王明).
  • right_char
Right name / character. Supports 1–2 Chinese characters (e.g. 李华).

Layout

  • gap_mm
    Space between the two names.
Negative values = overlap, positive values = gap.
  • heart_offset_x
Moves the heart left or right for fine adjustment.
  • heart_offset_y
Moves the heart up or down, applied on top of the automatic alignment.

Advanced – Initials / Characters

  • font_family
    Font used for the characters.
Noto fonts are recommended for best compatibility and readability.
  • size_letters
Controls the overall size of the characters.
  • th_letters
Thickness (height in Z) of the top characters.
  • left_char_spacing
    Spacing between characters inside left_char.
Only noticeable when the left name has two characters.
  • right_char_spacing
    Spacing between characters inside right_char.
Only noticeable when the right name has two characters.

Advanced – Heart

  • size_heart
    Scales the heart symbol.
  • th_heart
Thickness (height in Z) of the heart insert.
  • z_heart
Vertical start of the heart pocket inside the characters.
Higher values place the heart further up in the names.

Fit & Tolerance

  • insert_clearance
Clearance between the heart insert and the pocket.
Higher values = looser fit, lower values = tighter fit.

Stability – CJK Badge (Recommended)

  • cjk_badge_enable
Enables a backing plate behind each character.
Strongly recommended for Chinese characters to keep disconnected strokes attached.
  • cjk_base_th
    Thickness of the backing plate.
  • cjk_round_mm
Controls how closely the backing plate follows the character outline.

Lower (more negative) values → larger backing plate that covers more background and helps connect disconnected strokes (“islands”)
Higher values → smaller backing plate, closer to the character shape, but may not connect all islands

The default value offers a good balance between aesthetics and structural stability.
