Between Hope and Decay.
The Horror Unicorn is a disturbingly quiet apparition
between fairy tale and nightmare.
With a roughly stitched body, an empty gaze
and its once shining horn,
it seems as if a fairy tale
had been kept alive too long –
and thereby corrupted.
Sweetness meets unease.
This 3D-printed Art Toy deliberately plays
with the contrast of closeness and disturbance.
The familiar form of an innocent mythical creature
remains,
yet every seam, every imperfection
tells of a dream with cracks.
It wants to enchant.
But something is no longer right.
