Description

Celebrate the ultimate retro power couple with this "Three Act" wall art! Designed for the Layered with Love contest, this piece captures the progression of a relationship through the lens of classic arcade nostalgia. From the first spark ("They Meet"), to the excitement of courtship ("The Chase"), to building a family ("Junior"), it’s the perfect gift for the Player 2 in your life.

Design Concept I wanted to create a piece that was more than just a generic heart. Using the iconic "Intermission" scenes from the 80s arcade era, this design tells a complete love story in three parts:

  • Act 1: The spark of meeting.
  • Act 2: The playful chase.
  • Act 3: The arrival of the stork and a new beginning.

Printing & Assembly (The "Layered" Part) This model is designed with "layers" in mind to ensure a clean print and minimal waste:

  • 1. The Scenes (Back Plate): The art scenes print as the foundation layer.
  • 2. The Title Overlay (Middle Layer): This layer features the "Act 1, 2, & 3" typography and acts as a visual "mat," framing the scenes below and adding physical separation to the art.
  • 3. The Frame (Outer Shell): A separate, structural frame that holds everything together, giving the piece a finished look suitable for wall mounting or desk display.
  • Why this method? This "2.5D" layered assembly creates physical depth and shadows, giving the art a high-quality "shadow box" look while making color swapping much faster and more efficient than a solid block print. It can be printed without AMS if you add pauses at the color swaps.
