Description

Einstein might have talked about the theory of relativity, but we all truly understand it when waiting for an occupied bathroom!

This 3D printed door hanger features the classic humorous quote: "A minute's length depends on which side of the toilet door you're standing on."

It's a fun and practical way to signal that the toilet is currently occupied while providing a little entertainment for whoever is waiting their turn outside. The design fits most standard lever-style door handles.

The text is embossed (raised), making this model perfect for a simple two-color filament swap. It prints easily flat on the bed with no supports needed.

Happy printing! If you find this relatable, please leave a like!

Print Instructions & Notes:

This model is designed to be printed flat on the build plate. The raised text allows for an easy color change effect.

  • Material: PLA recommended.
  • Nozzle: 0.4mm standard.
  • Layer Height: 0.20mm (Standard) is fine, 0.16mm will give slightly smoother text top surfaces.
  • Infill: 15-20% (Gyroid/Grid).
  • Supports: NONE.

Crucial Step: Color Change

For best results (like in the photos), you need to change the filament color for the text layers.

  1. Start printing with your background color (e.g., Black).
  2. In your slicer (Bambu Studio), find the exact layer where the raised text starts. Insert a "Pause" or "Filament Change" command at that layer height.
  3. When the printer pauses, swap to your contrasting text color (e.g., White) and resume.

(Note to you: Again, when uploading the print profile to MakerWorld, make sure the .3mf file already contains this pause/color change so it's easy for users.)
