Description
Bird house node with 1.5" diameter entrance hole, vented body and floor plate, vented roof with drain and grate to ensure it does not hold water while keeping electronics off the bottom of the roof. The body is approximately 150mm x 150mm x mm. I did not add mounting hardware to this model but may add attachments later to allow for various setups. I printed with ASA for outdoor durability. I used a DFRobot 5v solar manager board, maker hawk battery, 17cm antenna, and ( sampling Heltec v3, vision master t190, e-ink 290, t114 etc ) and the solar panels are 5v 60mmx110mm panels. You can fit a variety of boards and modules. It would be cool to get some textures for the roof and chimney. Print with supports for the body and roof. I used a mesh glued on the inside to stop debris and sideways rain from coming in directly to equipment to allow water to fall down to the drain in severe weather. The grate is thick enough to drill holes for mounting.
The hole closed up a little after printing , I used a small drill bit to open it up a bit . I tested several radios on this , heltec v3, 213, 290, T114, T190. I ended up with a RAK 19007 board , the battery over the course of a couple weeks starting at a dead battery has it at 76% at 10pm On a 3000 mah battery After a week. Two weeks later at 10pm still 90% .
( the dark colored roof is my winter time roof, I use a light natural color in the summer to help keep it cooler. )
