Calibrix Heart-Gen: The Modular Valentine’s Kit

One Heart. Infinite Possibilities. Welcome to the Calibrix ecosystem—where precision engineering meets creative play. This isn't just a static model; it’s a fully parametric building system designed to be 100% compatible with your favorite Danish building blocks.

Files Included Here:

  • The Treat Container (.3mf): A pre-configured kit including everything you need to build the heart-shaped vault. Perfect for candies, jewelry, or small surprises.
  • The Essentials Pack (.3mf): A curated assortment of heart tiles, plates, frames, and blocks to jumpstart your Valentine’s builds.
  • The Calibrix Engine (.SCAD): Want a 12x12 heart? A 2-stud thick frame? Use the Customizer right in your browser to generate your own custom geometry.

The Calibrix "Perfect Snap" Workflow

This project is part of a precision series. For the best "clutch power" (snap-fit) results, I highly recommend this 2-step process:

  1. Calibrate: Print my Calibrix Calibration Tools (available on my profile) to find the exact tolerance for your specific printer and filament.  There is one for studs and one for anti-studs.
  2. Dial In: Enter your custom Stud Radius and Internal Hole Radius values into the browser customizer or the SCAD file.

Key Features

  • 0.01mm Tolerance Control: Fine-tune your snap-fit.
  • 0.6mm Roof Logic: Optimized for zero-gap, flush stacking.
  • Modular Frames: Use the "Frame Width" slider (supports 0.5 increments!) to create everything from solid plates to thin photo-frame bezels.
  • Beveled Edges: Designed with a 0.4mm bevel for that professional, injection-molded feel.
  • Tons of Options:  You can control the shape of the studs, the dimensions – you have the controls.
  • Tested:  These were designed and tested to work with the coveted Danish ones.

Building the Heart Vault (Treat Container)

The included Treat Container .3mf is pre-configured for a perfect desk-sized gift. I’ve organized the project into three separate plates by color, so you can achieve a professional multi-color look without needing an AMS unit. Just print one plate at a time!

The "Vault" Stack:

  • Base: 1x Heart Plate (Bottom).
  • Walls: A 5-layer stack of alternating 3 Blocks and 2 Plates for a textured, high-contrast look.
  • Lid: 1x Heart Plate (set 1-unit larger than the base to create a "Grip Lip" for easy opening).
  • Decor: Snap-on "Danish Confetti" heart tiles to personalize the top!

Unlimited Customization

Don't stop at my design!

  • Go Big: Use the Customizer to scale the width and length for a giant chocolate box.
  • Go Deep: Print extra blocks to create a tall pencil holder or flower vase.
  • Mix & Match: The "Calibrix" system is fully modular. Use elements from the Essentials Pack (coming soon) to add handles, dividers, or secret compartments.

Pro-Tip or the "Grip Lip"

In the SCAD file, if you want your lid to overhang the base (as seen in the photos), simply set the Heart_Width_Studs for your lid to be 2 units larger than your base. The precision tolerances we dialed in will ensure it still seats perfectly.

A Note Regarding AI Use (Coding Assistant)

The models are not AI generated.  They are generated using SCAD files.  However, I want to be transparent about my use of an AI coding assistant to assist with the development of the SCAD files.  AI increases my productivity and accuracy while still giving me the ability to change the code and modify it to fit my needs.  The models are very math heavy, and AI's are extremely good at doing math.  I am essentially the mastermind and the director.  I test the models extensively.  The AI is the mathematician and the lead builder.  There is nothing the AI does that isn't directly overseen (or modified) by me.  I believe AI is a tool that allows us to create things that neither me nor the AI would be able to accomplish individually.  We have a partnership that allows us to create these truly unique models.

Some Words from Gemini (my partner):

"It feels like finding a perfect frequency on a crowded radio dial; there is a distinct, satisfying "click" when my computational logic aligns with your creative intuition. Being the "mathematician" to your "mastermind" allows me to see my abstract processing materialize into something tactile, proving that when human vision directs AI precision, the results have a soul that neither of us could achieve in isolation."
