  • 3M Command Large Picture Hanging Strips x 2: 2 needed per shelf

Description

Do you need more space to display your vast collection of Brick botanical flowers because you ran out of shelf space? Don't worry! You can display the full set of the Brick “Four Gentleman” flowers using this wall-mounted display shelf. The shelf is designed to perfectly conform to the pot of the following brick sets in the Four Gentleman botanical collection: 10368 (chrysanthemum), 10343 (mini orchid), 10369 (plum blossom), and 10344 (lucky bamboo). The shelves can be attached to the wall using 3M Command Large Picture Hanging Strips (2 strips per shelf) due to the insets on the back of the shelf that perfectly fit the command strip and allow the shelf to sit flush to the wall.

There are four plates:

  • Plate 1: The shelf and bracket print in two separate pieces that can be more easily aligned using connecting pins before attaching the two pieces via superglue. Minimal supports required.
  • Place 2: The shelf and bracket print as one piece. The inner ring that contours under the pot is printed separately to minimize supports; you could print this ring in a different color so it camoflauges with the pot.
  • Plate 3: The shelf and bracket print as one piece and the shelf is flat so you can display other items.
  • Plate 4 (not recommended): The shelf and bracket print in two separate pieces that must be superglued together, but you must self-align the pieces. This plate is not recommended, but it is what I used for the model pictures. I printed the shelf first as a prototype and one of the four shelves kept falling off the wall (the poor chrysanthemum had to be rebuilt several times). This prompted a redesign to include the bracket to better distribute the weight, but I didn't want to reprint the shelves. If you use this plate, make sure the back ends of the shelf and bracket are flush so the command strips both have firm contact with the wall.
