Description

Version 3 is now published.
What's changed:

  • Seamless outside print, no supports outside, only interior supports
  • Print time reduced by 5 hours, amount of plastic reduced because of removed supports and smaller size
  • Bag became smaller, almost without compromising inner volume.
  • Whole interior was reworked, walls became much thinner to increase inside space
  • Outside bag looks organic due to smaller size
  • Hinges are now printed separatly and inserted later (glue recommended, but holds well without glue also)
  • Magnets cuts for 8x3 and 8x2 mm

I found a bit uncomfortable to put this bag somewhere on the table, so I designed a stand for it to make it stay vertically. Stand is done in gothic cathedral style, print profile was added. On stand veins cut for better grip and it's easierer to align heart correctly.

*On the hinges you will notice very small bumps. Those bumps should be aligned with same holes on the walls on the heart, as they are designed to block hinges from moving outside/wobble. Add some glue as well for better hold, but they will hold good without any glue as well.

A sculptural heart-shaped handbag inspired by anatomical forms, combining medical realism with unusual design. This bag was done via Blender using Sculpting techniques.

Part of Heartbroken collection

Third version of the bag contains major changes and updates. Fully reworked inner part - inside bag is same size as old one, outside it's almost twice smaller, which makes it more compact, better looking and more organic. Bag is now printed in separate parts: bottom, top and hinge. It allows to print almost without support and there are 0 supports on outside part of the bag, which makes it seamless outside. Magnets are still the same, 8x2 and 8x3mm. Because hinge is printed separatly, it became much tighther and wobble disappeared. I highly recommend to print in 3d version, this is definetely my favourite one. When combining all the parts: first combine the hinge, add drop of glue (it holds very well without it as well, but if you have - you can add), insert both of the bottom hinges inside 2 holes on the bottom bag part, then do the same with the top one. There are small "blockers" with a bit of an angle on the hinges, so you can slide them in and they won't come out

Hello, since it prints separately now, would it be possible to have a larger version divided into two plates? This way it could hold a cell phone and would be the perfect bag!! ❤️

Hello, There is a fundamental design issue with the chain attachment system. The plastic ring/loop area where the chain connects is not properly engineered. The attachment point is too loose and not structurally controlled. Because of this, the product does not stay in a fixed vertical position when hanging. Instead of remaining stable, the bag moves freely: It tilts backward. It tilts forward. It does not stay balanced. The hanging position is unstable. The problem is not only about placement, but about the ring design itself. The current plastic loop system allows too much movement and does not provide a controlled hanging axis. The attachment mechanism needs to be redesigned so that the ring sits in a fixed and stable position, preventing forward/backward rotation. In its current form, the hanging system is mechanically unstable and requires redesign. Please review the attachment structure carefully

Hi! Thank you for detailed review! I will work on and address those issues in the next update

Hello, I would like to inform you that the updated version of the bag has been tested, and the previous issues have been successfully resolved. The hanging system now works properly, and the bag remains stable when suspended. The forward/backward tilting problem is no longer present, and the overall balance has significantly improved. The attachment area feels much more secure and mechanically stable compared to the previous version. The product now performs as intended. Thank you for your revision and effort in correcting the design. I appreciate your support and cooperation. Best regards.

I will share some photos of recent print here as well, this was printed from "with lifted base" print profile. The main difference between "with lifted base" and "without lifted base" is that bag is lifted about 1cm over the ground to avoid contacting with plate directly. The difference visually is seen on the last picture, where distant bag was printed without lifted base, and nearest (closest) was printed just now "with lifted base". Also some of supports could be removed as well to improve quality and save some material, but please keep the manually added supports near the base of the bag (around it), it will help you stabilize the print and avoid any fails. I will soon publish print profile with magnet insets for fixing the top part as well. Have a lovely day!

is there a version of this that is printed the other way? is there an option to have the linge part at more of a 90 degree angle so that it can be printed flat facing down? Looking forward to a magnet version!

Hi! I will upload option with magnet insets, where magnets should be glued, and another option with magnet insets, where there will be a pause almost at the end of the print so people can put magnets and then magnets will be covered under thin layer of plastic as well (basically invisible, seamless magnets, same way as i did here https://makerworld.com/en/models/2373365-tissue-box#profileId-2597854 ) Unfortunately I don't have an option with flat face down, as the hinge is sligtly pointing upwards, but that is a good point and I think I might make on of those as well! Thank you for the idea

This is so cool. it printed great. the lack doesn't stay closed but it's not a big deal to me. I ran out of red a little over half way so that's why it's pink in the middle. Great job on this.

Thank you for the comment and the image, looks amazing! In couple of hours I will publish version with insets for 8mmx3mm/8mmx2mm magnets, so it can stay closed (both with pauses for seamless print and without pauses so magnets should be glued), and reworked on sides loops for better balance

A wonderful design! I tried printing it in TPU (30% size) - it works, but the hinge was very difficult to release and of course the many supports with TPU are a particular pain. :D I am now waiting for the "upside down" version so I only have to remove the supports from the inside and will try to make the hinge hollow so I can insert a metal rod. Then it will be a birthday present :)

Ver. 2 [NO SILK], 0.2mm layer, 2 walls, 7% infill,with mods
This print is being given a 5 star rating despite my personal turnout of this file for these reasons: - First and foremost, the creator mentioned that this file was not yet recommended for silk PLA because of some of the things you may be seeing in my photos. He/she/they have mentioned they are working toward an update to include silk PLA. - The inclusion for magnets as well as the latch make it reliable (in my opinion) for its intended use. - The overall result is absolutely wonderful and I personally don't mind having to do some finishing work to bring it to life. - The included handles to attach a strap or chains is very helpful. (One thing I'm a bit afraid of since I printed it with PLA is how quickly they might break off though.) My only final thought is wanting to reprint this using PETG or a stronger filament to withstand the wear and tear it might endure if used as I would a purse. Additionally, the option to cut and resize it to make it a bit bigger would be ideal for phones.

I was hesitant to try to cut and resize this model on my own simply because of the hinge on the model.

The print is super cool, I had to sand the inside a bit so the hinge pieces would go all the way in. Very striking and the only bad thing is that the phone doesn't fit due to its shape. I've made a video on Instagram, follow me to see it @soy.mimicrea ❤️❤️
