Description

Started as an experiment with hands and gravity. Ended up as a shelf pretending it’s melting — and somehow holding it together.

  • Wall-mounted display shelf visually “held” by two dripping hands forming a heart
  • The shelf carries the load; the hands sell the illusion
  • Designed as functional wall art, not a heavy-duty storage bracket
  • Organic drip geometry hides layer lines and adds visual depth
  • Meant for things you want to show, not stash

Don’t rotate the model. This is one of those times where “I’ll just flip it” turns into regret.

I included two print profiles so everyone can print this:

1. Single-Color Version

  • Simplest to print
  • Minimal supports required
  • Clean result in matte or silk filaments

2. Two-Color Version (No AMS Required)

  • Uses a manual filament change at layer height
  • Works on any printer
  • Creates a strong color contrast between shelf and hands

I designed the supports to stay light and easy to remove while still keeping the drips clean.

ASSEMBLY / MOUNTING

  • Hardware:
    • 2 screws
    • Wall anchors if you’re not hitting studs
  • Load expectations:
    • Controllers, small plants, cameras, collectibles, retro tech
    • Not for books, dumbbells, or emotional baggage

Mount it solidly, respect the load, and it’ll behave.

FILAMENT & COLOR SUGGESTIONS

  • Silk or metallic PLA: Hides layer lines beautifully
  • Matte PLA: More sculptural, less flashy
  • Dark colors: Emphasize shadows in the drips
  • Light colors: Make the melting effect pop on darker walls

Does it need supports?
Yes — build plate only. Designed for clean removal.

Is it load-bearing?
It’s display-grade, not structural. The shelf is strong; the hands are visual.

Best print orientation?
The provided one. Full stop.

If you print one, I’d genuinely love to see it on a real wall. Post a make if you feel like it — always cool seeing these escape the build plate.
